New FWH debugger developed by Carles Aubia!

New FWH debugger developed by Carles Aubia!

Postby Antonio Linares » Tue Feb 23, 2010 3:02 pm

Carles Aubia has developed a new FWH debugger, a great quality software development, free and with full source code provided so it can be modified, extended or just reviewed for learning purposes. It provides a working example so you can download it and instantly review it.

Thanks Carles! :-)

Antonio,

This debugger looks very good.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience wit RMK-files. I use xHarbour Builder.

How should this debugger be implemented using xHarbour Builder ?

Thanks a lot.

Michel,

Carles has authorized us to include his debugger as part of FWH :-) so from next FWH 10.2 version, the debugger will be included, tested and ready to be used :-)

We are actually testing it with both Harbour and xHarbour as it requires some little changes. We will email you a beta, as soon as it is working, so you can also test it with xHb commercial, thanks :-)

Antonio,

I received your email. Thanks a lot.

I replaced my original FWH libraries (10.1) by the ones you sent me.

I recompiled and linked my application but I got an error which I didn't have before.

When the first dialogbox has to be shown, I got the error :
Cannot create dialogbox
Resource K_OPSTARTEN1

Dialog=>createdlgerror(558)

Since I don't have the changed source of the dialog class, I cannot check it.

I put my original FWH libraries back, and everything is just fine again.

Be careful : I didn't change anything for testing the debugging yet.

Thanks.

Michel,

Did you compile any PRG using /b (for debugger) ?

Do you keep your resources inside a DLL ?

Antonio,

I did some testing with COMBOS.PRG, the new FWH debugger and the new libs you send me, together with the commercial xHarbour Builder. I added the flag "/b" to the xHarbour compiler.

When I start COMBOS.EXE, the debugging window appears with the very first , but if I push F5 (go), F7 (end function) or F8 (step), the window disappears and nothing happens further.

You can download COMBOS.EXE at http://www.ma-consult.be/combos.exe. Just add FWDBG.DLL and COMBOS.PRG and you'll see what happens.

The first steps have been taken and it looks very good.

Just one question : how about ALTD() ?

Any idea what happens ?

Thanks.
