Windows 10

I can have it broadcast to the TV as a display with no problem. It works with a Bluetooth keyboard and I can switch easily between tablet and desktop mode.

So, my 7" tablet works fine this way. I do have a couple of buttons to push, but in time this should be fully automated.

NO CABLES ... I have the MS Miracast adapter ( or some TV's, monitors, and other video devices like DVD players accept them ) on the TV, so the Stream 7 will connect to it automatically. The keyboard ( and mouse ) are Bluetooth. So it's ALL wireless including the tablet.

But then, its an actual desktop computer, in a package about the size of a large cell phone.

Miracast is part of Win 8.1 but also present in Win 10.

A Miracast adapter is available from Microsoft that plugs into an HDMI and USB port ( both needed ) on a monitor or TV. I believe the USB is for power so perhaps an external power source will do the job.

Miracast is also available on ROKU models ( if you have that ) and the Amazon Firestick.

Most PC's, laptops, and tablets can use Miracast to share their video on the big screen. Some phones, both Windows and Android have this ability also.

What Windows version do you have on your tablet ? Windows 10 ?

Is Continuum also working on your tablet ?

Can you run FWH apps on it ?

I have Windows 8.1
In Windows 8.1 the FWH apps work OK
I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 and Tim's comments pushed me to update

Antonio,

I bought this strictly for testing purposes. Windows 10 is working on it, but not ready for full use. There are some bugs to still be worked out, and likely they are related to drivers that need to be updated or downloaded and installed. Once the new release is set for the tablet, I'm sure all of that will be handled automatically..

Remember 7/29 is the release for full PC's ... meaning desktops and notebooks. That is Phase 1. Tablets are next. Then phones. The exact dates for those has not been announced, although many tablets may move over on, or shortly after, the 29th of July.

This is a massive work. Millions are already signed up to move over on 7/29, and that number increases dramatically every day.

Hi, i have two Lenovo Miix2 Windows tablet 8", one with Windows 8.1, another with Windows 10 10135 (leaked), continuum Works fine with Windows 10 tablet, i use bluetooth mouse / keyboard and miracast dongle, Works with Dlna tv too.

FWH Works fine, but some touch controls have difficult , like scrollbar.

I have another tablet, dell venue, with Windows 10 10130, this build have some bugs, included wifi related.

Tim, my Lumia 1520 running Windows mobile 10 Works fine, have some issues, but work. i will replace it with another, because continuum needs new hardware for phones. :(

I should have noted that is a common solution with non-supported countries who want to use Cortana. People did that with the Microsoft Band also.

I have 3 Windows phones ... 2 are Lumia Icons ( 929/930 type ) and one is a 928. The "connected" Lumia runs 8.1 update Denim. The other two have Windows 10 10080, but it is not yet strong enough to use on the Icon full time. However, there is a release due soon that should be fine with it. One of the issues with 10 on the Lumia currently is battery power. I think there may still be a lot of test / tracking code in there. We saw issues with Preview on desktops for awhile but the latest updates yesterday for 10130 have it quite solid. I'm now adding more and more applications to it to see how it performs on my test machine ( ie. the FULL Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition with all options installed, Office 365 full edition, etc. ). So far, everything seems to be OK.

Yesterday I watched the Apple keynote. I have, and enjoy, their products, but I was VERY disappointed they have not come further. With all of the money they have, its sad they did not invest more into some significant software development. What they release is good quality, but it's becoming old. It's time for OSX to support touch screen, and the iPad could really use a true stylus technology. Basic apps like Mail and Contacts are ancient and need some significant modernization. Their big item was News, an app that Microsoft has had for years, and they are changing their Passport app to Wallet ( a name Microsoft has used for years ).

Tech is fun !

Antonio are you try this tip : http://www.windowscentral.com/windows-1 ... peed-it-up

Antonio Linares wrote:I already installed the build 10130 and to me, this Windows version is not ready at all.

If Microsoft decides to release it soon, it will be a great mistake.

It responds quite slow to the Windows button, same for volume or network buttons on the taskbar.

Those buttons must respond inmediately. The Windows button sometimes does not respond at all.
