Acessing network files

Antonio,
I'm checking if a network file exist as you said in other topic with the code:
MsgAlert(File("\\server\c\Sample.txt"))

I always get .F.

I'm trying also with my local machine:
MsgAlert(File("\\roberto\c\Sample.txt"))

Always .F.

Where is the mistake?

Are you able to open it using FOpen() or MemoRead() ?

It doesn't work with memoread too.

I tried with device emulator and with a real ipaq.

Maybe those files are not accesible from your Pocket PC connection,

How can you check that the connection is ok ?

I can access my web server (192.168.0.1) via internet explorer on the pocket pc with success, but I can't access \\192.168.0.1\C\sample.txt.

With my desktop pc (the one which pocketpc is connected) i can read the file without problems.

The same happens with the connection between pocketpc and my desktop pc (connected by USB cable).

I'm in a domain... mybe is this the problem? Can windows mobile access to the domain?

hai risolto il tuo problema ???

perchè io pur avendo una rete wi-fi correttamente funzionante navigo in internet con il palmare ma non riesco di nessuna maniera a sfogliare la rete e peggio ancora non riesco ad aprire un file dal palmare tipo :

use \\mypc\condivisi\magazi

ma non è che ci vuol un server database

mi illumini per favore penso tu sia andato avanti

try to disable the advanced functionality in USB to PC.

(prova a disabilitare le funzionalità di rete avanzate nelle impostazioni USB a PC)
