Dear Antonio,

Thank you for your hard work on FiveWeb. I understand I won't be able to port my existing application, I am planning on rewriting the entire application. Will we have capability for the following in FiveWeb?

1. Windows / Dialogs - ability to get screen coordinates to maximize screen area
2. xBrowse - ability to use most methods, including keyboard shortcuts
3. GET, COMBOBOX, CHECKBOX, RADIO, MEMO - ability to validate data, including popping another window to display data (xBrowse) for selection
4. Data Sources - ability to connect, read, write to MS SQL, MySQL and other databases
5. Low Level File (FOPEN, FCREATE, FWRITE, FCLOSE)
6. Security - be able to protect source code and webserver from malware, viruses, etc. via FiveWeb code
7. Ability to upload images and/or documents
8. Ability to send e-mails from application

Thank you again for your hard work!

Hi,

I agree on:

Also, I would add REPORT class.

FOpen and other database format are already working as there is a Harbour issue.

Antonio, have you tried to port an small application to Fiveweb, such as FiveDBU or a little customer managment app?.

Thank you very much for your great work.

To All

Before asking for 'new stuff' to be added to this CGI project, I think it is worth reviewing the very first posts to this thread ..

Dear Antonio,

Would like to know more about FiveWeb's roadmap like what features we can have in the FiveWeb. The main concern with XBROWSE and GET objects. So can we get the same benefits as we see in the Fivewin ?

Thanks
Shridhar

Shridhar,

Probably we can not get as much power as we have with FWH on the desktop, but we can support many FWH features.

The main problem is that if we don't get a certain amount of users, then it is not worth to dedicate more time and work on it for the moment...

Dear Antonio,

What FWH features we can support that needs to be listed and determined the proper road-map of Fiveweb. As you mentioned that FiveWeb can supports many features of FWH, so definitely we will have good numbers of users of FiveWeb as FWH.

Thanks
Shridhar

Shridhar,

* A print preview with PDFs generation and display of them

* VALIDs and WHENs on GETs and other controls

* Support for typicall MySQL operations using a simple xbase way
MySQL management is already shown in FiveWeb/samples/TestBrow.prg

Surely more features are missing, but those are good ones to implement...

Antonio,
