Transparent frame a-glass for MDI WinChild ( antonio ? )

Antonio

Hope things are going well with your Korean venture !! .. I posted this subject a few days and no real answers. To recap .. I have a MDI application and winchilds .. with aero glass .. the MDI frame ( title and sides ) are transparent .. I would like to know if it is possible for the winchildren to have that same behavior ?? ..

What I get is a solid title frame and sides .. which is kinda 'ugly' .. however, if this is a OS constraint .. I can live with it. I would use Dialogs\nowait .. but one bad side-effect is when the MDI is minimized .. the dialog does not follow the MDI and remains on the screen .. so I had to go back to my MDI\Winchild code.

Just curious if you had a work around ?

Rick,

It seems as a Windows API limitation:

I was afraid of that ... the transparent frame looks so much more elegant than the solid winchild frame .. I am fishing with Bill this weekend .. I will ask him to see if he still has any influence with Mr. Balmer

I truly like Windows 7 myself and I will share this e-mail from our MS rep about the July availability of W7 .. I don't even see our Agency doing a Vista migration .. XP to W7

Richard,

By now you have probably heard about our announcement earlier this week. No, I'm not talking about Project Natal<http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/projectnatal/> (though it looks pretty cool), but the Windows 7 availability. By mid July we expect to send Windows 7 RTM to manufacturing (we also said that Windows Server 2008 R2 should be around that time too) with general availability October 22nd. Windows Server 2008 R2 is aligned with the RTM and GA dates of Windows 7. VL customers will be able to download the code shortly after RTM

Enterprise SKU
Remember the Enterprise SKU only features that are not available with the Professional version (equivalent to Vista Business):
DirectAccess
AppLocker
BitLocker, BitLocker-To-Go
BranchCache
Federated Search

Multi-Touch
If you have a good relationship with your HP or Dell counterparts, try to get one of their multi-touch systems. Multi-touch is built into Windows 7, so any of the following systems should work fine:
Dell Latitude XT (and XT2)
HP TouchSmart PC (not a laptop)
HP TouchSmart TX2

Thanks!
