Es cierto eso, pero a veces uno evita poner el mail - porque lo bombardean despues con correos
basura o spam- Es mas que nada una medida de filtro.

So what is the problem? Is it erroring out, and if so, what is the error?

Some servers may not let you do this as a spam prevention technique.

Are you able to send mail using a mail address that is the same as the server?

I always get notifications, but others have reported the same problem as you. I can't remember if they found a solution. Are you sure your spam filter isn't trapping them?

I have given up on the smtp class. It is too slow and I could not get it to work reliably with the security and anti-spam features used by our email servers.

I use a product from OstroSoft. It is free, very fast, and always seems to work. http://www.ostrosoft.com/
