Activating a Scanner

Hello

For saving battery I have to activate the scanner when the program is going to use it and desactivate later.

I the Symbol web I hace found some C functions.

1) The Functions are for Microsoft embedded Visual C++ 4.0. Is possible to use that?

2) How do I call a C function

Level of battery

It is possible to have in the programm the level of battery ,
the level of WiFi signal , the amount of memory free ?
